The Texas Rangers have traded Eli White to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash.

The Rangers had designated White for assignment last week.

In order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the Braves designated Hoy Park for assignment.

White, 28, hit .200/.274/.305 with three home runs and 41 strikeouts in 117 plate appearances in 2022.

The Atlanta Braves have acquired reliever Lucas Luetge from the New York Yankees in exchange for two Minor Leaguers.

The Yankees received right-hander Indigo Diaz and infielder Caleb Durbin.

Luetge, 35, posted ERAs under 3.00 while pitching in at least 50 games in each of the past two seasons with the Yankees.

The San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins are among the clubs with interest in free-agent Johnny Cueto, according to a report.

Cueto didn't start until May 16, but the 36-year-old had a strong season for the Chicago White Sox. He had a 3.35 ERA over 158 1/3 innings.

A number of teams have inquired with the Boston Red Sox about veteran starter Chris Sale, according to a report.

The Red Sox aren't looking to trade any of their starters, but they are at least willing to listen and consider at offers.

Sale, 33, does have a no trade clause that could veto potential deals.

The New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates have spoken recently about a possible trade centered around Bryan Reynolds, according a report.

The Yankees have previously had interest in Reynolds, but the Pirates have placed a high price tag on the outfielder.

"Pittsburgh prefers starting pitchers to headline the return and [the] top end of Yankees' system is deeper in position players," Jon Morosi tweeted.

When the Boston Red Sox signed Trevor Story to a six-year, $140 million deal last offseason, he was considered a possible replacement for Xander Bogaerts at shortstop in the event he departed as a free agent.

Now that Bogaerts is gone, there are some within the organization that aren't sold on the idea of shifting Story to shortstop.

Some prefer Kike Hernandez over Story at short, but that would leave an opening in center field.

At this point, they are believed to be looking at trade options.

The Baltimore Orioles are getting calls from other clubs about shortstop Jorge Mateo, according to a report.

Mateo is a natural fallback option for teams that haven't been able to address shortstop in free agency.

The 27-year-old hit .221/.267/.379 with 15 home runs and 35 stolen bases in 533 plate appearances in 2022.

Max Kepler is drawing significant trade interest after the Minnesota Twins signed Joey Gallo to a one-year, $11 million deal, according to a report.

Kepler is under contract for $8.5 million in 2023 and has a $10 million club option for 2024. 

The Minnesota Twins have received trade interest from other clubs about Sonny Gray and Kenta Maeda, according to a report.

It's unclear how open Minnesota is to moving either player.

The New York Mets are listening to offers for veteran pitcher Carlos Carrasco, according to a report.

New York added Justin Verlander, Jose Quintana and Kodai Senga in free agency, making Carrasco expendable.

Carrasco had a 3.97 ERA and 152 strikeouts in 152 innings pitched in 2022.
